Benchmark Service: Evaluation
Issue: A recently installed surgical center roof build based on a contractor scope of work was experiencing numerous leaks and disrupting the schedule.
Solution: Benchmark, Inc. was hired to perform a roof evaluation and identify the source of the leaks. Benchmark discovered several simple details were not designed or constructed properly. One example – pitch pans did not utilize primer on the metal support penetrations, therefore the pourable sealer did not stick to the metal, allowing leaks to occur.
Possible Impact: Roof leaks were impacting the surgical center operations, increasing risk and reducing expected roof life.
